Directions

For body and face: rub a small amount of Shea Butter into the palm of your hands until melted and apply a thin coat on your skin. Can be applied morning and night, or more often for extreme dry areas. For hair: a little goes a long way so start with a pea size of shea butter, rub it between your hands until melted, then scrunch on hair until tamed and glossy but not oily. Store in a sealed plastic or glass container in a cool, dry place and avoid sunlight. No refrigeration needed when temperature is below 75. Typical shelf life is 12-18 months for unrefined Shea Butter, but can be less if mixed with other ingredients.

ABOUT SHEA BUTTER

Unrefined Shea Butter is a nutrient rich cosmetic butter packed with vitamins and antioxidants. It deeply moisturizes the skin to help soothe and repair dry, itchy, cracked skin and maintain a healthy glow. Its properties also make it effective in evening out skin tone, diminishing blemishes, dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally Shea Butter can be used on the scalp or in the hair to stimulate growth, tame frizz and lock in moisture.

This is a semi soft butter, it melts upon skin contact so can be applied as it is or mixed with other ingredients to make skin and hair care products. Shea Butter is vegan and safe for all skin types.

ORIGIN

The history of shea butter as an invaluable cosmetic traces back to Ancient Egypt, where Queen Cleopatra always had pure, unrefined shea butter on hand. Shea Butter comes from an indigenous African tree called Vitellaria paradoxa. These are wild-growing trees producing tiny, almond-like fruits that every May start falling on the ground. Villagers harvest the fruits, separate them from the nut, then boil and let the butter float to the surface. The butter is then milled, filtered for impurities, packaged in huge blocks, loaded on large boats, and shipped to our facility in Austin, TX for manufacturing and final packaging.

OUR FAVORITE WAYS TO USE SHEA BUTTER

WHIPPED SHEA BUTTER

Place 1 cup of Shea Butter with 1/2 a cup of Almond Oil (or carrier oil of choice) and 1/2 a cup of Coconut Oil in a double boiler on low heat.

Once melted mix together with a spoon or spatula.

Place in the fridge until firm but not completely solid.

Add 20 drops of an essential oil of your choice and whip with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

Place into jars or final containers.

Use this amazing whipped body butter as a daily deep moisturizer after a shower or bath.

HANDS & FEET BALM

Place 2 oz shea butter, 1 oz beeswax and 2 oz of jojoba oil in a double boiler on low heat.

Once fully melted, remove from heat and add 30 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil

Mix together and put it in the fridge until hard and ready to use!

MILKY BATH SALTS

Layer the following ingredients in a jar: 1 oz epsom salt, 1 oz sea salt, 2 oz milk powder.

Pour in a full bath, soak for 20 minutes, wash and rinse your body.

Dry off and apply shea butter as a deep moisturizer, allow it to absorb into your skin.
